Accounts Officer

The Role

The Accounts Officer plays a vital role in the business. You will be in contact with service providers, contractors, chauffeurs, clients, and their customers. You will be a self-starter who is highly motivated, reliable and can support and motivate other team members. You will display an accurate eye for detail, be a team player, be customer focused and eager to assist in every way and be efficient and effective in his/her overall duties. You will fully understand and comply with the Star Group Policies, Procedures and may be required to provide reports to management on a continual basis. You will also assist in the training of Accounts Staff as required.

Accounts Manager or Managing Director

Responsibilities:

Tasks:

  • Verifying bookings after transfer is complete, including Pricing and Contractor Pay.
  • Pricing bookings that the system has been unable to price automatically.
  • Charging client’s credit card for any additional charges incurred such as waiting time or excess charges.
  • Assisting clients with requests for receipts/tax invoices.
  • Processing credit card refunds for clients within 24 hours of receiving notice of cancellation.
  • Raising weekly/fortnightly/monthly invoices for clients on payment terms.
  • Assisting other staff members, from Colleagues to Management, resolve client disputes in an efficient, helpful, and courteous manner.
  • Processing Contractor Payment Runs on a weekly/fortnightly basis, including adjustments, reporting and distribution of documentation to Contractors and Management.
  • Resolution of Contractor Payment disputes, in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Liaising with Contractors on a continual basis to ensure their information is up to date and reporting to relevant
  • Operations Manager when necessary to seek assistance in obtaining the required information.
  • Creating Journals for adjustments to Contractor Pays and Client Accounts.
  • Processing Commissions and Overrides, including calculation and reconciliation to invoices.
  • Responding to incoming emails within 24 hours, with a helpful and professional manner.
  • Providing any assistance in any areas that may be required from time to time as required by Accounts Team Leader and/or Accounts Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Administration/Accounts.
  • Exceptional work ethic and time, task, and resource management skills.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, coaching, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office.
  • Ability to plan for and keep track of multiple tasks and deadlines.
